Conservation Areas
Leigham Court Estate Conservation
Area (CA 31).
An important social housing
development. Also known as the
ABCD Estate being the initials of the
principal roads in the development.
Built by the Artisans’, Labourers’, &
General Dwellings’ Company from
1894 to 1905 with some later
additions.

Streatham Common Conservation
Area (CA43).
Originally the manorial wastes of
South Streatham Village. The 70
acres or so of common land are
managed by the London Borough of
Lambeth.

Streatham High Road and
Streatham Hill Conservation Area
(CA 54)
Originally constructed as a Roman
Road linking Londinium with the
South Coast. Now a major arterial
road, the A24. The townscape of
Streatham High Road is mainly late
Victorian and Edwardian, and
notable for its retail and commercial
architecture. Further features of the
High Road are the large 1930s
residential developments with their
Art Deco styles.
