On This Day 1 March 1857 Brigadier- General Sydney Bellingham Jameson was born. Lived at 82 Christchurch Road. A direct descendent of the Jameson and Haig (Whiskey) families
His grandfather was James Jameson who was the son of John Jameson and Margaret Haig of Scotland who founded the famous distillery in Dublin. James was a director of the Bank of Ireland.
Sydney Bellingham Jameson born 1 Mar 1857 at Airfield attended Eton College and Cambridge. He served with the Seaforth Highlanders and attained the rank of Brigadier General. He married Ethel Theodora Greenway in Warwickshire on 8 Aug 1887. They travelled quite extensively and had seven children, two of whom were born in Ireland.
