Hollywood Actress died 25 years ago today, 3 August 1995

On This Day 25 years ago on 3 August 1995 Hollywood actress Ida Lupin died.

Ida was a member of the acting Lupino dynasty. She was born in Herne Hill and the family lived at 152 Leigham Court Road. Ida attended St Helen's School in Streatham
​
She is also celebrated as a pioneering female filmmaker, being the only female director and producer working within the conservative and male dominated 1950’s Hollywood studio system, as well as the first woman to direct a film noir – The Hitch-hiker (1953). (Source Jazziz)
