On This Day 12 August 1784 The Reverend James Tattersall, Rector of St Leonard's died at the Shrubbery.

The Rector built the Shrubbery as he had a dislike of the Rectory

In 1894 'The Shrubbery' became Streatham College for Girls, a boarding school situated between St. Leonard's Church and Prentis Road on Streatham High Road.

The building was demolished in 1933 and replaced by Central Parade, a row of shops with flats above.
