Sir Henry Doulton

On This Day 25th July 1820 Henry Doulton was born. He and his family lived at "Woodlands" in Streatham

Sir Henry Doulton (25 July 1820 – 18 November 1897) was an English businessman, inventor and manufacturer of pottery, instrumental in developing the firm of Royal Doulton.

His mausoleum is at West Norwood Cemetery constructed from red pottery tiles and bricks from the Doulton Works, which is now a Grade II Listed building.
