The Streatham Tram Smash 13 November 1913

On This Day 13 November 1913 the Streatham Tram crash took place in Mitcham Lane junction with Southcroft Road (Daily Chronicle)

The tramcar's brakes failed and the driver, Albert Attridge escaped injury by jumping clear. Sydney Mellars the conductor was badly injured. Luckily there were no passengers on the tram. (Loobey and Brown)
