Local History
The Society is pleased to assist and help others in their research into Streatham’s history, whether it is a house history, business history, a biography or another local history topic. In return, we ask for a copy of the research work to be lodge with the Society. We will also consider publishing notes or booklets on local or family history relating to Streatham.
Family History
For those who have family history associations with Streatham, the Society offers a family history search service of parish and other relevant transcriptions, which is carried out by volunteer members. There are no charges for this service.
For those wishing to undertake their own family history searches, records relating to Streatham are deposited in the following record offices: Lambeth Archives Department, Wandsworth Local History Library and the London Metropolitan Archives. Please see their respective websites. These depositories hold the administrative and parish records of Streatham and include rate books, registers of electors, Street re-naming and re-numbering files, manorial records, maps, street and trade directories and photographs.
