The original Streatham Roll of Honour, which listed the 730 men of Streatham who gave their lives in the First World War, has been lost. Fortunately their names are not forgotten as the Society has a list of those featured on the Roll. Click here to see the original list.
Meanwhile, two members of the Streatham Society, Colin Crocker and Andrew Hadden, have been undertaking detailed research into those former inhabitants of Streatham who died in, or from wounds received during, the Great War. To date they have compiled a list of over a thousand men with Streatham connections, far in excess of the number listed in the original Roll Of Honour.
One of the projects the Streatham Society is undertaking to commemorate the centenary of the First World War is the compilation of a new electronic Roll of Honour based on this research which may eventually take the form of a specially dedicated website to honour the fallen.
Anyone wishing to have the names of their relatives considered for inclusion on this new Roll of Honour should complete and send the form below. John Brown, the Society's archivist, will then review the information supplied.
