Two members of staff at the Streatham Bus garage Robert Atkins of Croydon proposed to his future wife, 'bus conductress Rosemary Tunmore (22) also of Croydon, over the earphones when when they were flying 5,000 feet over Surrey and after such a proposal Rosemary could do nothing else but say "Yes" to her pilot.

Robert and Rosemary who both work on the 130 'bus route Streatham Common to New Addington, are both keen members of the London Tramnsport Central Road Services Sports Association Flying Club at Cobham (Surrey). Robert, who has done 100 hours flying, has his pilots licence and has taken Rosemary for many flights since they first met 6 months ago.

He recently won a Rose Bowl in a Flying Competition and this will have pride of place in their home, after their marriage next year.
