The family operated a Horse-bus service in the area and the family lived in Streatham, Brixton, Tulse Hill, Norwood, Clapham Park and Dulwich.
George Ball graduated from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1843, the same year the family bought the Streatham Forge. From 1871 he was on the RCVS council and was awarded a fellowship in 1877. He lived with his wife Matilda lived at 13 Paragon, Streatham Hill.
