On This Day 14 February 1985 George Alfred Brown died
Baron George-Brown (1914–1985), politician, was born on 2 September 1914 at Flat 22, I Block, Peabody Buildings, Duke Street, Lambeth.
While living in Streatham, at Mountearl Gardens, he was active in his local Labour Party. In 1932, at the nadir of the Labour Party's fortunes, he became vice-president of the Streatham constituency Labour Party
