An English artist who achieved recognition at an early age as a painter and illustrator. Throughout her career she painted religious subjects and landscapes.
Her father was the painter Hugh Allen who was a close friend of John Ruskin and in fact died after catching a chill on his way home from Ruskin's house, "Brantwood" on Lake Conniston. Her grandfather was Ruskin's publisher
The attached article in the Norwood News in 1915 demonstrated the talent of Daphne and mentions the Queen had accepted a collection of her drawings
