Doris Pender (Doris Lomas Southam) died On Ths Day 24 July 1975 at home in Streatham. She was a Lady Ratling and was a member of several professional organisations
Doris made her stage debut as a small child in the famous comedy act presented by her father and uncles- Lomas Troupe. Doris joined the Pender Troupe of Giants, Stilt Walkers and Acrobatic Comedians formed by Bob Pender when she was 14.
In 1921 a local lad Archie Leach joined them and performed a double dance act with Doris. He went with the act to NewYork and became the celebrated actor Cary Grant.
