On This Day 17 June 1805 Captain John Dale acquired a letter of Marque and he sailed "The Streatham" to Cork bound for Madeira and Madras and Bengal

In 1806 she took part in General Sir David Bairds and Admiral Sir Home Riggs Popham expedition that captured the Dutch Cape Colony
