Field Marshal Francis Wallace Grenfell GCMG died On This Day 27th January 1925. He was born in Lambeth and baptised at St Leonard's Church in July 1841. The address given in the baptismal record is Seaforth House Liverpool
The son of Pascal St Leger Grenfell and Catherine Anne Grenfell (née Du Pre). Francis Wallace Grenfell was educated at Milton Abbas School in Dorset but decided to leave school early.
Grenfell Road, which runs through North Kensigton was named for Grenfell; the road later lent its name to Grenfell Tower.
