George Deer MP was my great uncle on my mother’s side. His wife was not Ivy but Olive Gertrude (nee Stoakes), born 1897. As a child in the 1960s I experienced her kindness and generosity and superb knitting skills - I still have old dolls (bairns) wearing knitted dresses she conjured out of nowhere in minutes.

Olive Gertrude Stoakes was my great grandma's sister whose family were in Grimsby. She was born & lived here before moving away with George then returning in later life to live in Hunsley Crescent.

Emma thank you. I think Ivy may have been his second wife. I have seen the entry for both of them at this house in the electoral registers
