He lived at "Carn Brea" in Garrad's Road on the corner of Tooting Bec Gardens and Prentis Rd
The Temple of Varieties was run by Acton Phillips Jnr., for a period from 1884 until 1897 when it was sold to J. C. Coe and reconstructed and reopened as the Palace of Varieties in 1898
