Kate Carney was an English singer and comedian who played the music halls in London.
She appeared in the Royal Variety Performance in 1935, and, following the death of her husband, became the lessee of the Grand Theatre, Clapham in her own right.
She died in a Streatham nursing home 1 January 1950 Her husband's real name was George Shea but he used the name Barclay
She was the Grandmother to our Chair of the Streatham Society, Shea Richardson.
