Mr J A 'Mike" Corrigan of Fieldend Rd, Streatham Vale, the only surviving driver of the original horse-drawn fire engines. He joined the Fire Brigade in 1898 retiring in 1926. He remembers when London had fewer than 100 fire stations, each with its stable of sprecially trained horses
