Otto von der Meden (1828) once occupied Coventry Hall, Streatham with his wife Martha, three sons, two daughters and sister in law and 7 servants with another 10 gardeners and coach staff
He was a naturalised British subject born in Hamburg and he joined J Henry Schroder and Co as a clerk in 1847 and had been associate clerk since 1847. On his promotion to full partner, Werner Kelbe was appointed associated partner and Adolphus Schmidt joined from Kleinworts- all were German born.
