On This Day 6th October, Sir Edmund Tylney was buried at St Leonard's Church. A resident of Streatham and also the "Mansion" Leatherhead Tylney was the son of Philip Tylney, Usher of the Privy Council to Henry VIII Edmund was Master of the Revels to Queen Elizabeth and King James. He is featured on the Stained glass window in St Leonard's John Brown writes: "It is fascinating coincidence that Edmund Tylney lived in Streatham and Simon Callow of Rutford and Pinfold Roads played Tylney in "Shakespeare in Love"
