On This Day 25 May 1756 Sir Dudley Ryder died.

Rt Hon. Sir Dudley Ryder was Solicitor General, Attorney General and Chief Justice of the Kings Bench 1754. He became Baron of Harrowby, but he died the following day, so the honour was passed to his son. He married Anne Newnham in 1733, and had just one son, Nathaniel. He died in 1756 aged 65.
