The Streatham Antiquarian and Natural History Society were the predecessor of the Streatham Society.
Formed by those with an interest in Streatham’s past and heritage and those with a passion for the natural environments, this new local society held their first meeting in 1933. Their meetings were held quarterly and on a Monday evening. Their membership ran into hundreds and, like the present day Streatham Society, presented a varied programme of events such as walks, visits, lectures and exhibitions, as well as publishing various books and pamphlets
